Happy New Year!

OK, so I didn’t make it BEFORE the new year started. Can I say it’s the thought that counts? Nah, probably not.

I’m sitting here now waiting for Josh, my stalwart ISP dude, to pay a visit and upgrade my wireless installation…again. Hey, I’m not complaining. He’s not doing it because it hasn’t been working. He’s doing it to give me even BETTER service. I’ve been through the addition of an amplifier between my modem and antenna and even though the first one only worked when we ran up to the old house and jiggled the cable, the new one has worked flawlessly. The only time I’ve had problems is after a big rain. We’ve discovered that my signal deteriorates when it has to travel through rain soaked trees and other obstructions. Once everything dries out, the signal strength returns. Josh is coming out today to add 10 more feet to my antenna to get me above the trees. What a guy! We moved a desk into the old house for him and even offered to put a nameplate on it for him but he declined. I don’t think our little joke was very funny…

So, it looks like 2009 is starting out on a positive note. It didn’t hurt that Diezelfitter was a hit at the Eagle’s Lodge on NYE. I hope your new year is getting off to a great start, too!
