Episode 75: Lessons Learned in 2008
January 24, 2009
I think it’s safe to say that Kim and I both learned something in 2008 that will help us have a more successful (and less stressful) 2009. We learned from each other; we learned from our clients; we learned from our customers and we learned from colleagues. The point is that we DID learn something and not every learning experience was pleasant. Shall we share our pain?
- Kim suffered Twitter withdrawal (she’s in recovery now).
- I discovered that time management is a misnomer (thanks to Carol Dickson-Carr).
- We had good and bad experiences with virtual teams. We “kissed a few frogs” before we found our princes.
- We worked through challenges with customers and learned what we’re worth to them and to ourselves.
To celebrate our 75th show and to thank all of you for your support, we’re giving away another license to GoodSync, courtesy of Bill Carey of Siber Systems. To learn more about GoodSync and to add your name to the list of potential winners, just leave a comment on Episode 70 telling us why you’d like to have a copy. If you’ve entered for a copy before, you’re still entered for the latest drawing. I’ll randomly number the entries and have Kim pick a winning number.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for patiently awaiting a new podcast. If you’ve been keeping up with the blog, you already know that I learned a lot while I was living in Technology Hell without an internet connection to speak of. That’s behind me now and other than occasional disruptions in service, I’m back to 100% functional. Having said that, I do apologize for instances of a poor Skype connection during this show.
It feels great to be back in the podcasting arena and we’re looking forward to a great 2009 on View from the Coop with Paige “Chicki Chicki” Eissinger and Kim Beasley, The Blog Queen. As usual, we support independent artists by using music from IODA Promonet for our intro/exit.
