We’re with ya, Chickitoo!

For those of you who don’t know it, Kristi “Chickitoo” Hicks has been dealing with a situation in her family that none of us want to see happen in our own families. Her sister, Sandi who is 33, was stricken with cancer over 4 years ago and has been battling the disease on a daily basis ever since. According to Kristi, her sister has managed to maintain a sunny disposition and has even comforted friends and family who have been devastated by her illness. Sandi has even kept a blog so that we can all keep up with her battle, and she has fought bravely. I strongly recommend that you read it for yourself. Kristi called me this morning to let me know that she was on her way to Springfield where Sandi is in the hospital where she’s been for the last several days. The prognosis is not good but Sandi is at peace with herself and her life. The family is struggling with the recent turn of events and who knows, the body can do miraculous things and Sandi may pull out of yet another serious setback. No matter what, she’s fought the good fight and her faith has only become stronger as her body has been ravaged by the disease. I’d like to say the rest of us could be that strong.

Please keep Sandi, Kristi and their families in your prayers. Our Virtual Coop Crew has missed Kristi’s infectious laugh and her ability to cut through the fluff and get to the core of a tech question or issue. We miss you, Kristi, but we understand that you need to focus your attention elsewhere for the time being. May God be with you all throughout the trying days ahead of you and bring you comfort.
