Views from the Coop Online Welcomes John Senne

Date April 11, 2007

I am so excited! This Saturday, April 14, I’ll have a VERY special guest in the studio with me and the Cluck. His name is John Senne. I met John at Ozark Highlands Christian Church Disciples of Christ when I started attending there over a year ago. John was so excited because I found out about the church by visiting the website. He was excited because he maintains the site and was wondering if anybody ever used it.

That initial exchange started an ongoing discussion between John and me about all sorts of tekkie topics. John’s pretty tech savvy and even owns a Mac AND a PC. He told me his first PC was a Commodore 64. We’ll be hearing more about that on Saturday. Several months ago, John was moving his PC and dropped it. The PC was a loss but the hard drive was intact. He spent hours trying to find out how to recover his data. He’ll tell us more about that on Saturday, too. Besides the church website, John uses his PC to create the weekly bulletin and monthly newsletter. I’m not quite sure what he does with his Mac….but he’ll tell us about that on Saturday, too.

John Senne doesn’t work in IT. John Senne isn’t a computer tech or professional web designer. John Senne isn’t a big shot in the tech world. John Senne is still my hero. Did I tell you John also plays the tuba in the Rolla Town Band? Did I tell you John plays a mean doghouse bass with my husband, Rick, and me? Did I tell you John was 91 years old?

Listen to John and me this Saturday at 8:30am on KTTR. I promise you’ll learn something, even if it’s just that you’re never too old to be productive. Like they say, “Age is a matter of mind. If you don’t mind it…it don’t matter!”

If you miss the live show, you can hear a recording on Sunday morning at 9am and don’t forget the podcast that will be available online Saturday after the live show!
