Views from the Coop on the Go!

Date August 21, 2007

I’m so excited, I can hardly stand myself! After languishing for more months than I want to recount, I’ve finally starting picking up momentum on the podcasting scene. Not only have I partnered with Kim Beasley, the Blog Queen, on Views from the Coop but I’m also going to be co-hosting a new show on BlogTalk Radio with my friend and colleague, Dr. Kathy King, of Podcast for Teachers. Both of these ladies aren’t the types to let moss grow under their feet and I can only hope that I’m able to keep up with them.

Kim and I are tossing around technology topics of interest to technology users from both the business and personal perspectives to discuss on future episodes of Views from the Coop. Since we do this for our listeners, we hope you’ll send us your feedback and suggestions for topics you’d like to learn more about. Just go to our Contact page and drop us a note.

Kathy and I are also developing topics related to education for Transformation Education, our upcoming show on Blog Talk Radio. If you’re not familiar with BTN, you should be. It’s the closest thing to a traditional offline call-in radio show you can get. I always loved the interaction with callers when I was on the radio so I’m sure I’ll be able to settle right in with our online callers and I now I’ll be very comfortable co-hosting with Kathy.

Just to let you know, Kim is working diligently on getting Podpress set up on our blog so you can listen with the built-in player to Views from the Coop but we’ve run into a little snag. Previous shows are sounding like the Chipmunks hosted them. It has to do with the low bitrate the shows were recorded in and the fact that most of them are in stereo rather than mono. I have the same problem over at the Techpodcast Network. Whenever you try to listen to VFTC with a built-in player on a website or blog, you get those silly chipmunks. I know what I have to do in the future to prevent that from happening and am just trying to figure out how to fix all the current shows. Thankfully, you can still hear the shows at the speed they’re supposed to be in if you use a podcatcher or click the link to the show in the body of the blog posting to listen on your chosen media player.

OK, now that I’ve put my excitement into words, I can go back to work. Stay tuned as Kim and I continue to improve the blog and podcast. You can’t stop a couple of Smart Chiks!
